Level 99 Axe Rage is a mixture of B-Movies and classic sidescrollers, aiming to have players fight against zombie, alien, and machine threats using an axe, an acrobatic protagonist, and his dog pal.
Players will work through stage after stage of various threats, running the gamut of sci-fi invaders with just the axe in their hand and a bottomless anger. The game’s hero can really put that axe to work, too, offering several different kinds of combos that will send enemies flying, ready to get juggled even further by a skilled player. The enemies are equally skilled at times, though, so players will need to slide, wall jump, and keep themselves moving forward if they want to life to meet the next thing they want to chop up. Luckily, your dog pal might hop in to help from time to time.
Players will get a little tougher over the course of their journey, finding handy items buried in out-of-the-way cubbyholes that will increase their powers, giving them an extra edge against whatever monster happens to be fighting them this time. Overall, though, players can expect a constant barrage of over-the-top, kind silly moments from Level 99 Axe Rage, promising a fun journey for lovers of classic, challenging sidescrollers.
