Let It Shine viewers OUTRAGED as winners will only be backing singers in Take That musical

Boyband Five To Five were crowned the winners of the BBC One show last week and will be performing in a musical inspired by Take That songs.

But fans were led to believe that the champions would be the stars of the show and have the main role.

It has now been revealed the group consisting of AJ Bentley, 21, Curtis T Johns, 23, Nick Carsberg, 17, Sario Solomon, 19, and Yazdan Qafouri, 18, won’t have any spoken lines and instead will only be backing singers.

Many viewers are now furious that they have been “misled” by the programme and by head judge Gary, 46, who created the talent show.

One person wrote on Twitter: “#Letitshine Backing singers? Public have been misled by Barlow and the BBC. Bit of a shame really.”

“Just heard about #FiveToFive not being the stars of the @GaryBarlow Musical, feels like #LetItShine was just a big publicity stunt now,” another commented.

A third raged: “Erm, sorry…what?! What was the point of @BBCLetItShine.”

Another furious fan wrote: “@GaryBarlow the winners of Let it Shine aren’t the leads in ‘The Band’ musical? What kind of b******s is that? Not misleading at all!!”

But one viewer wondered why there was so much uproar as Let It Shine didn’t audition anyone on their acting capabilities.

“Why are people b******g about #LetItShine. The only disciplines that were auditioned were singing and dancing. Of course they won’t have lines,” said a fan of the programme.

The musical will feature the winning group singing 14 Take That songs as they tell the story of five female super-fans.

They will tour the nation at the end of this year with the opening show in Manchester on September 8 and will end in London’s West End.
