The model turned singer performed her latest track to catastrophic reviews from Loose Women viewers today, but urged audiences to purchase Simon Cowell’s Grenfell Tower single instead.
The X Factor judge dropped the song, a star-studded cover of Bridge Over Troubled Water, this morning, featuring the likes of Leona Lewis, Robbie Williams and The Who.
In turn, Katie generously suggested fans shun her new tune I Got U for the charity release.
“Even though you can buy my single, don’t bother buying mine,” she stressed. “Buy the Grenfell one because that’s more of a thing to do.”
Katie admitted she hadn’t taken singing lessons for her latest song, but she was simply “doing this because it’s my passion and I’ve always wanted to be a popstar or a model”.
In fact, her manager even tried to stop her from trying reigniting her pop career.

“No one is interested whatsoever,” she confessed. “My manager was like, ‘I’m not interested, I don’t want anything to do with it, I don’t know why you’re wasting your time.'”
After performing the track, Loose Women viewers almost unanimously flooded Twitter to blast the “cringe-worthy” spectacle.
Elsewhere on Loose Women today, Robbie Williams’ wife Ayda Field broke down as she spoke about the Grenfell Tower charity single – which was unveiled today.
The actress was left visibly upset after a small segment of Bridge over Troubled Water was played on the ITV show.
As the camera returned to the 38-year-old, she was barely able to speak, before her co-star Ruth Langsford revealed she knew someone affected by the tragedy, which so far has a death toll of 79.
Loose Women continues weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
