Katie Piper asked her mother to 'KILL HER' after waking up from a coma

Appearing on the panel with Lisa Riley, Janet Street-Porter, Nadia Sawalha and Andrea McLean, Diane Piper told the shock of receiving a phone call saying her daughter had been involved in a chemical attack.

She explained: “It was a bit surreal really, we didn’t get a lot of information from the first call, we just got told ‘your daughter’s been in a chemical attack’ and they told us to go quickly.

“We didn’t know what to expect. When they took us in to where Katie was, it was horrific.

“I didn’t even recognise her – we went into a complete state of shock. She wasn’t conscious and they were treating her and putting something on her face,” Diane continued.

However, more harrowing details were revealed as Diane told the shocked Loose Women panel that Katie’s first words when she come round were not what a mother would want to hear.

“Probably ‘kill me’, when she first came around. She could speak but she wrote phrases and ‘kill me’ was one of them,” Katie’s mum explained.

Katie then read out some of her mum’s heartbreaking diary to the panel, detailing how her hallucinations and mood swings had impacted on life.

“I know I shouldn’t let it get to me. I suppose I’m too sensitive. It’s so hard to see someone you love in so much turmoil,” read Katie.

Appearing on Loose Women to celebrate the run up to Mother’s Day, Katie did however explain that she got better thanks to her mum.

Katie said: “We have lots of laughs and I think we’re best friends. Becoming a mother as well, she’s a mentor.”

Loose Women airs weekdays from 12:30pm on ITV
