While the Duchess of Cambridge often opts for comfort when out and about, she likes to pair a designer dress with a nice pair of heels.
But how does she walk round so effortlessly in high heels and for long periods of time?
Kate’s all-day comfort secret is a simple one as well as cheap.
The Duchess reportedly swears by leather sole inserts, according to Vanity Fair.
Insoles are easy to obtain from most shoe retailers.
But Kate is said to prefer a a specific insole – those by Alice Bow.
The Alice Bow website says the insoles are “designed to cushion the ball of your foot and heels whilst being thin enough to fit unnoticed into any shoes”.
There are a wide range of colours to fit nearly any shoe, and they simple stick into place with the help of double sided sticky spots.
The insoles are also handmade in Britain from fine Italian leather and priced from £14.95.
While it has not been confirmed whether the Duchess does swear by the insoles, there have been rumours floating about.
An Alice Bow spokesperson told Vanity Fair: “There has been talk of the Duchess wearing the insoles but we cannot comment either way. We have seen a massive surge in site visits however.”
The Duchess has made her mark in the fashion stakes over the years, but she has no qualms about recycling looks.
Kate is the unofficial queen of style, and she manages to make old looks come off as entirely new ensembles.
But there’s a reason why she often re-wears key wardrobe pieces and entire outfits.
Fashion writer Simon Glazing told Mail Online there could be more to the Duchess’ wardrobe repeating than her love of a bargain.
It could be to make her more relatable.
He explained: “There has been lots written about the Duchess and Prince William’s spending.
“It’s likely to be the reason why she is thrifty with her wardrobe and often recycles dresses and coats. Even a princess has to dress on a budget.”
