Kasabian new album updates: Serge Pizzorno reveals upcoming music is FINISHED

The band have been working on the follow-up to 2014’s 48:13 for a couple of years now but are finally expected to release it in the very near future.

They previously whet fans’ appetites with the new song Pressie in December, and are confirmed to headline Reading and Leeds this summer.

Taking to Twitter, the group posted a black-and-white photo of a notebook, featuring what appears to be a crossed-out list of song titles.

“ALBUM DONE. SP x,” reveals the only legible text.

Confirming the news in the caption, the group wrote simply: “#albumdone.”

Speaking to NME about the mood of the new music, Pizzorno previously said: “It’s so weird because last year I was making music then I got married and Leicester won the league.

“Last year was the best year of my life, but the whole world around that was crumbling. With everyone dying and all the madness around the world, I’m sat there going ‘I’m having a great time!’ It’s pretty mental.

“There’s this vision of me in the studio surrounded by vintage synthesisers, that’s still standing perfectly but the rest of the world is just f**king bust. I wrote a proper feel-good album that will come out in the summer.

“It’s just the pure positive and complete opposite of what’s going on at the moment because that’s where I was as a human being. This was my reaction against the rest of the world.”

Kasabian have so far released five studio albums, all bar one of which have reached No1 in the UK.

They haven’t, however, had a hit single since 2009’s Fire, which peaked at No3.

A release date for their sixth LP, as well as a title, is yet to be revealed.
