Jumanji: Dwayne Johnson and Busted star Charlie Simpson in ‘Twitter feud’ over hit movie

The ‘rift’ is over Johnson’s hugely successful movie Jumanji, which was revealed last week to be getting a sequel in December 2019.

Johnson had shared the movie’s release date in a tweet on Saturday, after which musician Greg Rankin replied, tagging Simpson.

“you will be loving this news ;)” he wrote, to which Simpson – clearly not a fan of the last Jumanji movie – replied: “Oh dear… I wonder if it will be the second worst film ever made?? @mattjwillis.”

Johnson saw the response and wrote back: “Haha I have a fun idea – how bout you watch it with us and tell us your thoughts.

“Then we listen to your music and we’ll tell you ours. You know, face to face like real men do instead of yapping on Twitter.”

Rankin replied: “Oh s**t I’ve landed you in it Charlie, my bad. Busted vs The Rock twitter war!”

Simpson, seemingly unbothered, responded: “Haha sorry to disappoint but I don’t do Twitter ‘beef’, it’s lame.

“I actually think @TheRock seems like a really rad dude. Just wasn’t a fan of the movie. Subjective opinions and all that. Respect none the less.”

Bandmate Matt Willis chimed in: “@therock is my favourite actor/person/idol EVER!!!”

Last week it was confirmed that the next Jumanji movie will come out just one week before Star Wars: Episode 9.

“Officially planting our JUMANJI flag,” Johnson declared. On DECEMBER 13th, 2019 – the game is not over.

“I hold JUMANJI very close to my heart and I’m beyond grateful you made our movie into the global juggernaut ($ 1BILLION+) it became.

“Can’t wait for you to see what our new adventure & new characters have in store as Christmas comes early.

“And once again, I get to slap @kevinhart4real’s lip’s into next week. The world is happy.”
