Jeremy Clarkson shut down by ITV bosses over ‘unwise’ Who Wants to be a Millionaire move

Jeremy added: “Everything in here has been scrupulously sanitised. There’s another change too, and it’s a big one.

“For these shows there will be no audience which gave us a bit of a problem with the Ask the Audience lifeline.

“Naturally, I suggested a second Ask the Host option but the producers said that would be unwise despite my vast knowledge of the Volkswagen Scirocco Mark 1 and Mark 2.

“So instead we are going to have an extra Phone a Friend, so let’s hope everyone taking part has more than one friend.”
