Jason Manford reveals MEDIC had to be called for 'Gordon Ramsay' while filming Bigheads

The brand new programme sees contestants compete for cash prizes in a series of hilarious Je Sans Frontier-style physical challenges, all whilst wearing ginormous celebrity heads.

The ludicrous comedy value amps up as viewers will see the likes of Donald Trump, Ed Sheeran, Prince Charles and Benedict Cumberbatch go head-to-head in the Total Wipeout-inspired tasks.

With 25 huge celebrity heads, also including Russell Brand, Taylor Swift, Theresa May, Simon Cowell and David and Victoria Beckham, the show promises to provide solid family entertainment and a laugh a minute.

Comedian Jason, 35, told Express.co.uk that there were some hiccups and safety wobbles during filming.

“At one point, Gordon Ramsay had fallen over a couple of times and his head was bobbing all over the place,” he laughed. “And a medic came on but the medic was also a Bighead!”

“He’s in full ambulance outfit but he’s got a big head,” he continued, explaining that the comical ‘medic’ came on with a huge blue plaster which they used to patch up poor Gordon.

The impressive oversized props that contestants are strapped into, with the help of a pretty serious setup complete with a neck brace, took quite a beating throughout the competition, and some survived better than others.

Jason recalled: “There was an episode where Rihanna’s eye fell out, that was terrifying. These are so well built, these things, but she face-planted so hard on the floor that the eye popped out!”

Jason is joined by Olympic legend Kriss Akabusi and presenter Jenny Powell who commentate on each episode as compeitors aim to knock each other out of the running in order to return for the Grand Finale at the end of the series.

Bigheads airs Sunday April 23 at 7pm on ITV.
