James Bond: Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher have written a 007 theme together

The Modfather’s 13th solo studio album A Kind Revolution is out on Friday, but he’s already thinking about what’s next.

During a recent interview to promote the record, he announced he’s been working on a James Bond song.

Speaking with the BBC, Paul said: “I want to write a James Bond theme tune.

“I’ve got this half a song that me and Noel Gallagher worked on and I think it would be great for a Bond theme.”

He added: “There’s a bit of minor key going on. That would be an ambition definitely.”

Despite his enthusiasm for the project, the 25th official James Bond film is still waiting to see if Daniel Craig will sign on again.

The last Bond film, Spectre, saw its theme Writing’s on the Wall sung by Sam Smith, before going on to win an Oscar for Best Original Song.

Many stars over the years have recorded famous Bond themes such as Shirley Bassey with Goldfinger, however

Earlier this year the singer admitted that 1974’s The Man With The Golden Gun and Madonna’s Die Another Day are joint worst Bond themes.

As for the original Monty Norman James Bond theme, it turns out it was based on an indian song about magic sneezing.

The song, also by Norman, is called Good Sign, Bad Sign and was composed for an abandoned 1950s musical based on VS Naipaul’s novel, A House For Mr Biswas.
