James Bond news: Daniel Craig becomes second longest-serving 007 behind Roger Moore

The 48-year-old actor has been the incumbent for 4,147 days, clocking in at almost 11-and-a-half-years.

Craig has starred in four 007 films since winning the role on October 14, 2005.

Kicking off with the 2006 gritty reboot, Casino Royale, he followed up with 2008’s Quantum of Solace, which suffered critically thanks to the writers strike.

Next came Skyfall for the 50th anniversary of the franchise in 2012, which won over reviews and became the highest grossing in the series.

Then in 2015 he starred in Spectre, which could be the star’s final film unless he signs on for a fifth – something that is making

Doing so would up his chances of beating Roger Moore’s record as longest serving Bond.

With seven film and 5,118 days under Roger’s belt, Craig would have to star in at least one more to top his record.

The third longest-serving Bond is Pierce Brosnan, who held the role for 4,147 days over four films.

He’s followed by Sean Connery with 3,049 days, with 1983’s Never Say Never Again not counting because it was an unofficial 007 film.

In fourth and fifth are Timothy Dalton with 2,863 days and George Lazenby with 875 days.

The latter starred in just one Bond film, 1969’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

The 25th official James Bond film is slated for release in late 2018, with no news on whether Craig will return.
