Faith said in a radio interview earlier today that she’s keen to take on the iconic task when 007 returns for a 25th caper in 2019.
Asked by Chris Evans if she’s “permanently auditioning” for the gig, Paloma said: “I feel like I was built for it!
“I actually worked with Shirley Bassey, and she said to me, ‘Darling, you’re the new me!’ There’s no more praise than that.”
Before launching into a quick rendition of Diamonds Are Forever, she added: “Barbara Broccoli, the woman who does it, if you’re listening, please.”
Faith’s latest album The Architect topped the charts last month, so she’s certainly in a strong position to make a case for herself.
Sam Smith and Adele recorded the last two instalments, The Writing’s On The Wall and Skyfall, and both to huge commercial and critical success.
James Bond 25 is set for release in two years’ time, and will mark Daniel Craig’s final outing as the iconic secret agent.
After months and months of speculation, he finally confirmed his return in the summer, saying on US TV: “We’ve been discussing it. We’ve just been trying to figure things out.
“I always wanted to, I needed a break.
“I just want to go out on a high note, and I can’t wait.”
James Bond 25 is out on November 8, 2019.
