Israel blocked supplies of fuel and gas to Gaza on Thursday in response to the continued sending of incendiary kites across the border, according to Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman. The measure will affect the Palestinian enclave which already suffers power cuts, especially for hospitals, AFP reported. The crackdown comes in response to “the pursuit of terrorism,” using incendiary balloons and border clashes between Israel and Gaza, Lieberman said in a statement. Israel has lost tracts of farmland and forests to fires set by kites and helium balloons laden with incendiary material and flown over from Gaza, Reuters said.
