Is your flight affected? British Airways cancelling flights due to THUNDERSTORM warning

The recent hot weather has been a great start to the summer holidays.

However, a recent weather warning has predicted strong thunderstorms as the heat breaks.

In light of it, British Airways are cancelling many of their flights due to the weather warning.

It’s another problem for the troubled airline since the announcement of the strike this week.

National Air Traffic Services (NATS) has imposed strict restrictions on a number of planes landing and taking off.

It is to affect Heathrow, Gatwick and London City with delays to be expected.

It’s another blow to British travellers heading on holiday this summer after a spate of travel concerns.

British Airways have suffered from strikes which are set to continue.

British Airways posted an alert on their website regarding the delays.

The alert stated: “As a result, it has been agreed between Heathrow airport, NATS and airlines to proactively reduce the flight schedules at Heathrow to ease congestion.

“These restrictions combined with aircraft being re-routed to avoid the areas of severe weather will lead to delays on some flights and a number of short-haul cancellations.

“We are sorry for the difficulties caused by the poor weather and are doing all we can to minimise the effect it has on our operations.”
