Is Prince Harry going BALD? Royal’s scalp visible as he steps out with Meghan Markle

Prince Harry may have grown his beard to compensate for balding, says Harley Street surgeon Asim Shahmalak of Crown Clinic.

Dr Shahmalak, of Crown Clinic, said: “You can see there has been a significant deterioration in Harry’s hair over the last two years.

“He is developing an appreciable bald spot around his crown and the thinning towards the front of his hairline is accelerating. There are significant gaps in the cover right across the top of his scalp.

“If he does nothing he will go bald as his older brother over the next 10 years.”

He added: “It is very common for men who are thinning on top to grow a beard. It does detract a little for the hair loss in the scalp. Beards are also a sign of virility and men are often reassured by the fact that while they may be losing hair on top, it still grows well in other parts of their body.”

Prince Harry, 33, was in Nottingham today with his wife-to-be Meghan Markle, 36.

The stunning Suits actress wore a navy coat with a camel skirt underneath, making sure she wrapped up against the cold.

Prince Harry was wrapped up warm too, with a snuggly coat and a scarf, but some noticed something going on with Harry’s appearance.

One Twitter user wrote: “Prince Harry going bald is a national tragedy first William and now this.”

Thinning hair seems to run in the Royal Family, with Charles and William losing their hair.

It was even claimed Prince Harry could be bald by his wedding, which is scheduled for May.

Hair transplant surgeon Dr Thomy Kouremada-Zioga told Daily Star Online: “Harry will definitely lose more hair – he is in his early 30s and his hair loss is in progress. He will continue to lose hair until at least age 50.”

Prince Harry balding first appeared noticeably December 2015, almost two years ago.

The Prince, dressed in a blue winter coat smiled and waved to well-wishers as he joined the Queen, Kate, William and his father Charles at St Mary Magdalene for Sunday morning mass at Sandringham.

Images showed his hair was thinning on the crown, with some scalp visible below.

Jonny Harris, hair loss expert at the Belgravia Centre, London said: “Harry may have extremely thin hair by the time he his 50.”

Meghan and Harry in Nottingham will have a day at a World Aids Day charity fair hosted by the Terrence Higgins Trust.

The couple, who are due to marry at Windsor Castle in May, will then meet teachers at a nearby school.

Nottingham is important to Harry, and he spent time there meeting young people since 2013, when he was exploring issues around youth violence.

The prince’s communication’s secretary, Jason Knauf, said the prince was looking forward to introducing Ms Markle to a community that had “become very special to him”.
