Incredible footage of avalanche filmed near Mount Elbrus, Russia (VIDEO)

A close-up of an avalanche at a Russian ski-resort in Terskol near Europe’s highest mountain, Elbrus, was captured on film this April.

You can see the snow cascading down towards the town while the person behind the camera moves further away from the powerful sight, bidding farewell to his parents (in French) in fear that the mass of snow will hit:

“So I say: I love you dad, I love you mom…”

Luckily, the deluge of snow stops and the only thing that reaches the resort is a giant white cloud.

Local mountain-guide Oleg Koshkarev, who published the video, wrote in a comment that the snow had “stopped mid-mountain.”
