As hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly revealed that she had been eliminated, the comedian told her campmates that she was delighted with the news.
She exclaimed: “Do you have any idea what it’s like in there? They tortured us. There was no chocolate and no champagne.”
When asked by the presenters what was the most difficult part of the experience, Shappi did not hold back as she slammed the lack of food.
“It messes with your head, it messes with your mood,” the 44-year-old fumed.
“You think oh, we’re going to have games and we’re going to have fun, but everyone is just so tired.”
She went on to add that being given five salt and vinegar crisps left the camp “so excited” before admitting she was disappointed by strawberry-gate.
However, Shappi confessed that the experience was much easier for her than the other celebrities.
“I think I got off lightly because I only got bitten by about 100,000 ants, some people had it a lot worse,” she admitted.
“And my last challenge wasn’t gory at all, it was kind of funny and silly and, oh man, it was amazing.”
She added that she was “relieved” to be out of the jungle and that she could not wait to be reunited with her two children.
