I’m A Celebrity 2017: Kezia Dugdale’s Prime Minister dreams officially CRUSHED

The Labour MSP joined the ITV series alongside fellow newcomer Iain Lee, 44, during tonight’s instalment of I’ m A Celebrity, where they fought it out to become the first Jungle Prime Minster.

During their first Bushtucker trial, appropriately titled The Battle of 10 Downing Creek, Iain and Kezia, 36, were pipped against each other as the camp had to side with one of the newcomers.

After Iain managed to offend the whole group, they unanimously sided with Kezia.

However, they soon lived to regret their decision as Iain sailed through the task and swiped the real-life politician’s hopes of finally earning the title of PM.

In turn, Kezia and her team – consisting of Vanessa White, Georgia Toffolo, Rebekah Vardy and Jamie Lomas – were sent packing towards Snake Rock.

“I’ve slid all the way from potential PM to dunny duty pretty quick,” sighed Kezia.

The drama comes after viewers slammed Kezia for abandoning her constituents over a stint on reality television, though she saw the backlash coming from a mile off.

“I think people’s obverting emotion will be, first and foremost, of shock. I think there will be a few people angry,” Kezia admitted.

“They will be angry because they will say I should be doing my day job and I am going to be away. I understand that anger.

“I’ve seen them be angry over similar things the people have done but I can’t help but think that it is an amazing opportunity to talk to millions of people about the Labour Party, its values and how it is different.

“I am not gong to talk about politics all the time but it is who I am, what I do and I can’t help it.”

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV.
