Holidays 2018: Cheapest all-inclusive package holiday destinations this summer revealed

Holidays, once a luxury, are now part of many Briton’s lifestyles.

Research by ABTA found that the average person takes 3.8 holidays a year, both domestic and abroad.

But with a favourite holiday type being the all-inclusive package variety, according to TravelSupermarket, more people than ever are choosing to have the luxury of everything paid for on their trip.

Research showed 38 per cent opting for an all-inclusive, while just 18 per cent chose a self-catered holiday.

But where can Britons go to find the cheapest all-inclusive holiday? TravelSupermarket has revealed the destinations that are the lowest priced for families.

Emma Coulthurst, travel expert at TravelSupermarket explained how all-inclusives can be much cheaper.

She said: “An all-inclusive holiday really helps with budgeting.

“Spain, Turkey and Bulgaria, in particular, are offering some of the best package holiday prices this summer.

“But, make sure that you do your research and find out what is included in the package at the hotel so that you know that it is the right package for you.

“Some hotels include certain drinks, others don’t. So, find out as much as you can about the hotel so that you know that it suits what you are looking for.”

Based on a seven-night trip abroad during the peak summer season, Costa Brava in Spain came out as the top for the cheapest location for package holidays.

An all-inclusive at a three-star hotel could cost as little as £323 per person, including flights.

Turkey is also experiencing a resurgence in travellers, following recent terrorist attacks in the country which put holidaymakers off from visiting.

Ms Coulthurst also advises that the “the Turkish lira is currently down, year-on-year, against sterling so you get a lot for your money”.

Other countries such as Greece, Bulgaria and Malta are also some of the cheapest on the market.

She explains how being flexible will also get the best prices.

“The first and last weeks of the summer school holidays often offer the best package prices. Flying mid-week also often offers savings,” Ms Coulthurst said.

Fellow travel expert Jack Sheldon also revealed his top tip for saving money when booking flights.

Tracking school summer holiday timetables across the UK could mean a number of savings to be had.
