Scotland’s fourth largest city hasn’t typically soared to the top of the list when it comes to holiday destinations.
But change is underway at the eastern coastal spot.
Dundee’s tourism board is behind a transformation set to turn the town into a major city break destination.
Bill Campbell has recently taken the reigns as depute convener of Dundee City Council’s city development committee.
He’s looking to drive Dundee forward in leaps and bounds.
Mr Campbell told the Evening Telegraph: “One of our main ambitions is to turn Dundee into a major city break destination.
“We have a lot to offer and there’s a lot happening. We’re keen to attract as many visitors as possible to the city.
“Key things to be looked at in a bid to drive tourism in Dundee are transport links, accommodation, business tourism, employment, internet and WiFi links, visitor attractions, and marketing of the city.”
The best place to stay tuned? Dundee.com. Mr Campbell said: “This is a website that people can go on to find out what’s happening and we could develop it further.
“In Dundee, there are all these things going on but we need to make sure we tell people about them.
“We hope to host more exhibitions and seminars as a way to get more people to come to visit the city.
“More hotels are currently being built and there is increasing visitor accommodation.”
