Holby City: Gemma Oaten praised for debut but fans can't ignore THIS massive blunder

Nurse Somers (played by Gemma Oaten) arrived on Keller Ward from an agency and instantly ruffled some of the long-standing members of staffs’ feathers.

Clashing with Fletch (Alex Walkinshaw) immediately, Nurse Somers was taking no prisoners, and was praised by Holby City viewers for bringing a breath of fresh air to proceedings.

One viewer tweeted: “Oh look who it is @gemmaoaten welcome to #HolbyCity.”

Another added: “So far I very much approve of sparky Nurse Somers @gemmaoaten #HolbyCity.”

A third posted: “Here’s hoping you’ll stay on #HolbyCity for quite some time @gemmaoaten Nurse Somers is fab xxx.”

Whilst most fans praised Gemma’s performance, others could not help but notice that her character’s hair was down for the full episode, despite being a qualified nurse.

One viewer tweeted: “Medical staff with hair not tied up. Inaccurate. V annoying. #Casualty #HolbyCity.”

Another questioned: “Why has that nurse not got her hair tied up? #HolbyCity.”

Elsewhere in Holby, abusive Isaac (Marc Elliott) was finally shown the door as brave Dominic (David Ames) built up the courage to tell someone about his ordeal.

Holby City continues Tuesday on BBC One at 8pm.
