Hate doing the sunbed dash? Reserve ahead by booking with THIS holiday company

Most of us enjoy a lie-in on holiday, but this means we miss out on the best sunbeds.

Thomas Cook have devised a new Choose Your Favourite Sunbed policy – which means you can snooze for as long as you want.

Wave goodbye to the sunbed war where early risers get the prime poolside seats, with the rest of us being landed with the worst ones.

The new policy allows you to choose exactly where you would like to sit.

Whether it’s making sure your family stays together, to choose a place firmly away from the kids’ pool, it’s your choice.

The policy costs €25 (£22) per sunbed for your whole stay.

This is the first time a holiday company has offered this kind of policy.

Previously, holidaymakers had no choice but to rush to get the best seats early in the morning.

The initiative will be available at three Thomas Cook own brand hotels from the end of February.

This will extend to 30 own-brand hotels from summer 2018. So how will the policy work?

Guests will receive an email six days before their holiday giving them the option to book a sunbed in advance.

They will be able to choose their seats from a poolplan, which even has a compass on it to show where the sun will be falling during the day.

Chris Mottershead, Thomas Cook’s UK Managing Director, said the policy allows holidaymakers to “personalise” their stay.

“Traditional package holidays are a thing of the past,” he said of the company’s new move.

“Holidaymakers today want to personalise their package, mixing and matching the elements that best fit their needs and lifestyle.

“Our recently launched services such as Choose Your Room, which has attracted more than 10,000 bookings during the trial phase, and Early Check In, are proving popular.

“We’re excited about the opportunity with Choose your Favourite Sunbed, particularly among families that want to secure a number of beds together in a specific spot.”
