Grand Strategy Gets A Little Dirty In Organized Crime Sim The Commission

The grand strategy genre tends to operate on a big scale: centuries of history, global war and politics, galactic conquest. The Commission is approaching the genre through a smaller lens, instead focusing on a single city and placing you in control of mafia family operations in the 1920s.

As the Don of your mob family, the city of New Shore is your’s for the taking, if you can manage your family members, internal politics, and the expansion of your mafia to become kingpin. From establishing rackets like gambling dens to choosing family associates, The Commission places myriad options at your fingertips, all while dropping you into a complex web of controlled territories and rival families.

Your influence doesn’t end at the street level. With money and power, you can have city officials in your pocket to gain more leverage over New Shore and your enemies; do you blackmail the district attorney, bribe the police chief to avoid arrests for your next several turns, spend your funds to establish backchannels and reduce red tape for your construction projects and investments?

The Commission is expected to release this summer on Steam. For more details on the game, you can follow developer 302 Interactive’s Twitter and Facebook page.
