'Gran Turismo Sport' update adds even more free cars, events, track layouts

Since its launch, Gran Turismo Sport has only been getting better. A previous update addressed some of our key complaints by adding more single-player activities, and leaving more modes unlocked when the servers are down or the internet is out. More cars were also added, all for free. That trend isn’t stopping either, as the newest update (1.13 if you’re curious) adds 12 more cars, two new track layouts and more single-player events.

The selection of new cars is quite good, too. Fans of classics will be pleased to see the 1971 Mustang Mach 1, the 1970 Dodge Challenger and the classic Alpine A110. And for the first time in Gran Turismo, the De Tomaso Pantera, an Italian-style supercar with Ford V8 power, makes an appearance. Toyota gets more road cars in the form of a second-generation turbo MR-2, and a third-generation turbo Supra. New cars include the Lamborghini Aventador, the original V8-powered Audi R8 and the new Alpine A110. There’s an old-style open wheel race car and Subaru’s Isle of Man TT STI race car, the one with 550 horsepower, too.

The update adds a new series of events to complete in single player. Each one is themed around American cars, super cars, or the new open-wheel race car. Several pre-existing race series get additional events, too. Also, Blue Moon Bay Speedway gets two new infield courses available for racing in forward and reverse configurations.

This latest update is available now.
