Google Maps: What is this ghostly sighting and does it have a spooky meaning?

Google Maps is known for capturing some odd images of the world, and this one is no accepting.

A seemingly mundane island in a pond has taken on a rather horrifying form.

The small green island in on Bainbridge Island near Seattle seems to have been possessed by the face of a frightening demon.

Found on NE West Port Madison Road near West Port Madison, the face appears in a pond near a large family home.

The face seems to have an alien look about it, enhanced by the greenery of the island.

However, on closer inspection, it seems that the shape of a face has been created by the foliage.

A more recent image from Google Maps’ satellite shows the island has had some TLC.

Now the shape is more defined and grasses have grown thicker.

A bridge also seems to have been created from the little island to the mainland.

One famous haunted island is said to be Poveglia in Chicago.

The small strip of land is where those who were infected with the plague sent to die in 1381. It is thought 500 men, women and children died per day on the island during this time.

Other supposedly haunted islands include Hart Island in New York, where the largest tax-funded cemetery in the world is located and Deadman’s Island in Vancouver. This island was declared “dead ground” by native Chief Capilano when it was first invaded by white settlers, thanks to rival tribes warring there.

Another strange Google Maps sighting has been thought to be proof of aliens by some.

The strange circular piece of land could be a UFO hiding place for aliens.

A woman has been caught on Google Maps flashing the car zooming past.

It was taken in Illinois, a midwestern state in Chicago – one of the largest cities in the USA.

The woman is stood at the side of a road, lifting her vest top up with both hands.
