Google Maps: Can YOU spot the bizarre addition to THIS image that's stumped the internet?

Google Maps has produced some questionable images in its time.

From creepy to amusing, bizarre and mysterious, there’s never a shortage of entertainment from the online street view.

One image captured on the streets of New York has the internet stumped.

A glance at the photo reveals several people on the sidewalk, with one man standing towards the middle.

Wearing a red t-shirt and jeans, the man appears to be standing still, facing in the direction of the camera.

Nothing seems out of the ordinary about the image until you take a look closer.

There, perched on the man’s head, is a black and white cat.

The feline is using its paws and feet to balance on top of the man’s cap.

Though the pair make the trick look effortless, it is anything but.

The image has gone viral since it was discovered on Google Maps.

Many internet users say they have seen the man walking the streets of New York City with his cat on his head.

A marine biologist made his own eye-catching discovery on Google Maps recently.

Johnny Gaskell couldn’t believe his luck when he discovered a gaping blue hole under the surface of the water in the Great Barrier Reef.

According to Amusing Planet, a blue hole is an underwater sinkhole formed by the erosion of carbonate rocks.

After spotting the rare phenomenon online, Mr Gaskell decided to investigate in real life.

Mr Gaskell wrote on Instagram: “At around 15m-20m deep there was [sic] huge Birdsnest Corals (Seriatopora) and super elongate Staghorn Corals (Acropora) both of which were among the biggest and most delicate colonies I’ve ever seen.”
