On the 9 September 2016 four tornadoes swept through east-central Illinois.
Between the villages of Sidney and Homer in Champaign Country in the US, the tornadoes ripped through anything in their path.
With satellite images spanning the globe, the shocking path of the tornado can still be seen on Google Earth today.
The advanced scientific technology captures footage form around the world and pieces them together to form a 3D map.
Explorable to the general public, one Twitter user uploaded the images after spotting them on Google Maps.
Agricultural Meteorologist, Andrew Pritchard, posted the Images on the 10 April.
He said:”A friend of mind pointed out that the updated Google Maps satellite layer photos were taken apparently just a day or two after the Homer, IL tornado of September 9th 2016.
“You can see the entire track cut through fields, and amazing detail when zoomed in!”
When searching for Homer, Illinois on Google Earth, the astonishing track marks can be seen crossing the fields south of the connecting road between Sidney and Homer.
The tracks are not easy to spot at first, but as the tornado gathered energy, the track marks become larger, carving their way through the countryside.
Although The News Gazette reported that there were no serious injuries, the tornado ripped its way through the town.
Bill James, deputy coordinator with the Champaign County Emergency Management, revealed two homes four miles southwest of Homer were damaged, including one that was occupied at the time.
He said: “There are reports of tree damage and a corn crib was destroyed in the Sidney area.”
“Those are the only official damage reports received through METCAD and the Champaign County Emergency Management Agency.”
Sidney’s fire department spokesperson Mike Dilley went on to add that the path cut through a house at 2329 Country Road 750.
He revealed: “It destroyed the RV. The woman’s parents had just got here (in it). It just strewed parts everywhere.”
The roof of the two-story house was also blown off making it unsafe and uninhabitable.
Another Google user discovered another strange line when exploring Google Maps.
Spanning from the tip of Antarctica to the North Pole, a strange white line was spotted that measures 13,000 miles long.
Some speculators hinted that it must be an unusually long plane vapour train.
However, conspiracy theorists disagree adding that this explanation doesn’t quite add up.
To form the line, a plane would have to travel the 13,000 miles in a straight line without stopping.
One YouTube user wrote:“Sounds like the mysterious booms may be caused by this new spy plane that can travel at five times the speed of sound.”
Could this be the mark of a secret spy plane?
