Goodwood racing: Worst dressed revellers look windswept and interesting (and almost FLASH)

Goodwood Festival is the biggest summer racing event of the season but today attendees were let down by the blustery weather.

The ladies, hundreds of whom had turned out in all their finery, were hit by a strong wind at they arrived at the racecourse.

Large hats, which are a must for the races, were almost whipped of women’s heads.

However, the ladies took it in good nature, giggling as they clutched onto their head wear.

One woman smiled has her pink feathered hat was caught in a gust of wind.

Another pair of well-dressed race-goers smiled coyly as they were forced to hold their skirts down or risk exposing their underwear.

The women wore bright red lipstick and floral print dresses, as well as towering heels.

Bright colours seemed to be the prevalent trend at the races, with one woman wearing an acid yellow.

The skin-tight dress was topped off by an enormous fanned yellow hat, with a huge pink flower.

If this wasn’t enough the hat was covered in hundreds of pink feathers.

Matching shoes with a hint of zebra print finished the eye-catching look.

Another woman in a very wide brimmed white hat was caught on camera laughing with a friend as she struggled to keep the hat on.

Goodwood began on Tuesday and revellers flashed the flash and tattoos galore

The Qatar Goodwood Festival kicked off with a bang; hundreds of people flocked to the racecourse in Chichester for a day of fun in the sunshine.

The Group 1 Qatar Goodwood Cup – worth £500,000 – was the race to watch, but people will be more distracted by the race-goers.

The official dress code reads: “Goodwood is about dressing up but expressing yourself at the same time; it’s smart but never stuffy – take the joy of fashion and run with it.”
