Game of Thrones season 7 episode 6: Fans root for THIS couple – and it's not who you think

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Game of Thrones season seven, episode six.

The latest instalment ’Beyond The Wall’ featured an epic battle which resulted in one of the most gut-wrenching deaths of the series.

But there was still a little time for some romance in the penultimate episode as Tormund Giantsbane (played by Kristofer Hivju) shared a bromance moment with The Hound (Rory McCann) and revealed all about his desired one.

As they trudged across the snow to hunt for a White Walker’s wight, Tormund told The Hound: “I have a beauty waiting for me at Winterfell. Yellow hair, blue eyes, tallest woman you have ever seen.”

The Hound knew who his companion was on about straight away after she left him for dead in season four, he replied: “Brienne of Tarth? She wants to carve you up and eat your liver?”

“I’m not with her yet but I see the way she looks at me,” said Tormund.

Gushing about his love, he added: “I want to make babies with her. Great big monsters, they will conquer the world.”

The heart-warming scene sent those watching into a frenzy as they pleaded for Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) and Tormund to finally get together, although the fierce warrior hasn’t been very vocal about her feelings towards the wildling.

One viewer said on Twitter: “Tormund talking about “making babies” with Brienne is the best thing I never knew I needed. #GameofThrones.”

“That conversation between Tormund and the Hound was my favourite I’m cracking up #GameofThrones,” commented another.

One fan has high hopes for the two: “I will forever be disappointed if Brienne and Tormund do not end up together. #GameOfThrones”

“Just glad Tormund made it out of there so him & Brienne can have some monster babies! #GameOfThrones #Tormund,” added another.

Game of Thrones continues on HBO this Sunday in the US and will be simulcast on Sky Atlantic on Monday at 2am.
