Game of Thrones season 7, episode 5: FIRST LOOK trailer shows the White Walkers waging war

WARNING: The following article contains spoilers from episode four of Game of Thrones season seven.

Last night’s episode titled ‘The Spoils of War’ ended on an almighty cliffhanger after a spectacular battle left Jaime Lannister (played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Serr Bronn of Blackwater (Jerome Flynn) feared dead.

And in a trailer released by HBO teasing the next instalment, there is no sign of the two major characters but some of the Lannister army are still standing.

Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) is seen commanding the few soldiers left and warns them to bend the knee or if they refuse they will die.

With the Mad Queen coming out in the Mother of Dragons, Varys (Conleth Hill) has some wise words for her hand, Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and says to him: “You need to find a way to make her listen.”

Cersei Lannister is also back and is determined to prevail after the devastating defeat and says to her Master Qyburn (Anton Lesser): “Whatever stands in our way we will defeat it.”

But Westeros’ most threatening enemy is making a move as Jon Snow informs Davos, Daenerys, Varys and Tyrion in the Dragonstone war room about Bran Stark’s vision.

It appears the two siblings have made contact, most likely through a raven, and the Three-Eyed-Raven told his brother the White Walkers are closer than ever.

“Bran saw the Night King and his army marching towards Eastwatch,” Jon says.

With the White Walkers almost at Castle Black, will the Night’s Watch be able to defend it? And has Bran informed Jon of his true parentage?

Game of Thrones continues on HBO this Sunday in the US and will be simulcast on Sky Atlantic on Monday at 2am. Catch up on seasons one to seven on NOW TV.
