Epic Games recently announced that the next big update for their popular Battle Royale would be going live on Tuesday, May 15.
However, since posting this information, more news has been shared, and it won’t make for great reading for those with a Battle Pass.
Epic Games have announced that they have been forced to delay today’s update, due to problems being found late in development.
It’s not the worst news to get, and is something that has happened in the past.
However, Epic Games have also confirmed that this delay will affect the Fortnite Challenges for Week 3.
“We’ve discovered an issue that’s going to delay the release of v4.2. Due to this delay some quests may not function until the build releases,” Epic Games confirms.
“We’ll update you once we have a more accurate time frame.”
Luckily for fans, Epic Games have not said that there will be a long wait, so everyone can keep their fingers-crossed for something to drop soon.
And from the wording of the Fortnite announcement, it seems like Week 3 Challenges will still be going live later today.
The only catch might be that some of them will not function properly.
We already know which ones might be affected as the list of Week 3 Challenges has already leaked.
And it just so happens that the Week 3 Challenges have leaked early.
From the new information found by dataminers, there will be the usual 7 tasks to choose from.
This will include watching a match replay to earn 5 Battle Stars, dealing 500 damage with Pistols to opponents, as well as eliminating other players with the Sniper Rifle and at Tilted Towers.
There will also be a number of other Fortnite Challenges in Week 3 that will be location-based.
Fans will need to search chests in Lonely Lodge, hunt for 10 Rubber Duckies across the map, and Follow a treasure map found in Salty Springs.
Following the treasure map will reward 10 Battle Stars because of its harder difficulty, as will Eliminating players with a Sniper Rifle and taking out opponents at the Tilted Towers.

5 Battle Stars
- Watch a Match Replay (1)
- Deal damage with Pistols to opponents (500)
- Search Chests in Lonely Lodge (7)
- Search Rubber Duckies (10)
10 Battle Stars
- Follow the treasure map found in Salty Springs (1) (HARD)
- Sniper Rifle Eliminations (2) (HARD)
- Eliminate opponents in Tilted Towers (3) (HARD)
From the looks of it, the Lonely Lodge Chests, Rubber Duckies hunt and Treasure Map in Salty Springs might be the ones worst affected.
It should be noted that at this time that we are waiting for further information on the subject, so a lot of this remains a prediction at this time.
For those that don’t know about Fortnite Challenges, they are released each week and separated into hard difficulty tasks and regular difficulty ones.
The hard difficulty Fortnite challenges will net players 10 Battle Stars, while the others will reward fans with five Battle Stars.
For those joining in on the Fortnite Battle Royale action late on, weekly challenges stack up and can be completed any time before the season ends.
So if you buy a pass mid-season you’ll still have access to all of the previous weekly challenges.
