Plane passengers spend a lot of time in airports ahead of a flight so it’s important to be fully prepared.
Many travellers rely on electronic devices as a form of entertainment these days.
But getting to the airport only to have a kindle or tablet run of battery can be very annoying.
Savvy hand luggage packing can be a way to avoid this – and one piece of travel advice is particularly useful.
If you need to charge more than one device it may be hard to find enough sockets at the airport.
To avoid having to locate other sockets, a top tip is to pack a multi-plug extension lead in your hand luggage.
“Bringing a multi-plug extension lead to the airport can save you running around trying to find a dual socket,” said flight booking website Kiwi.com.
This can also be helpful if you’re travelling with friends and family to prevent fighting over socket space.
A multi-plug extension isn’t only useful at the airport, however. It could be handy once you arrive on your holiday.
“This hack can also make traveller adapters go further once you reach your destination,” said Kiwi.com.
However, if you find you forgot to pack a phone charger altogether, there is a way around this.
Kiwi.com recommend heading to the lost and found desk at the airport as a solution.
Plenty of lost and abandoned phone chargers get handed in and you may be able to borrow one.
“If your phone’s battery is depleting, head to lost and found, and see if they’ve got one to match your phone type,” said Kiwi.com
“More often than not, they’ll have a huge box filled with phone chargers which have been sat there for well over the requisite ninety days.”
Another travel hack is to put the transparent security bags to good use once you’re on the plane.
Get a spare one – or pack a sandwich bag – to make the most of their surprising second use on short haul flights.
Travellers can put their phone in the bag and hang it over the back of the seat tray.
This way it’s much easier to watch a film or show hands-free, just like having seat-back TV screen.
