Fifty Shades Darker: Why Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson hit just released 'CLEAN version'

Its predecessor, Fifty Shades of Grey, was never released at all in the United Arab Emirates, but the sequel has somewhat unexpectedly now turned up in screens.

It does, however, have a few of its raunchier scenes missing, presumably to please censors in the country.

It is unclear from listings exactly how much has gone, but Stepfeed reports that the differing runtimes vary from between 13 to 20 minutes being unaccounted for.

The film does, however, still have an 18+ rating.

Starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, Fifty Shades Darker’s erotic content is its key selling point – so it’ll be interesting to see how it performs without its raunchier moments.

It was previously banned in India, with a source telling The Quint: “Even in the US it was granted an ‘R’ rating and in the UK it was given an ‘18’ rating. In India we do not have ‘R’ or ‘18’.

There is one film still to go in the series – Fifty Shades Freed – which is set to land next February.

However, speculation started last week that a fourth film could be made after star Marcia Gay Harden said she’d be up for starring in a version of Grey – the sort-of-spin-off book that told the story from Christian Grey’s perspective.

Speaking to People, Harden said: “I’m trying to now think about it. ‘What would Christian’s point of view be. Would mom even be in it?’

“She rescued him. She was a doctor, she rescued him.”

She added: “I don’t know. Would I be in it? Yeah, sure. I’m game.”

Fifty Shades Darker is available on Digital Download from June 12 and on Blu-ray™ and DVD from June 26, courtesy of Universal Pictures (UK).
