Emmerdale star Danny Miller’s dad: Who is the Aaron Dingle actor's famous father?

The ITV star has made a name for himself on the hugely-popular soap via a number of harrowing storylines, including his recent struggle with self harming and drug abuse.

Danny, 27, may have got some of his talent from his famous father Vince Miller, as the latter has racked up over 65 years of work in the entertainment industry.

Tonight, the younger actor will appear at the National Television Awards with the hope of getting the lucrative award for Best Serial Performance yet again.

Danny has won multiple awards over the last several years for his performance as the often tormented Yorkshire Dales character, and often credits one of his greatest supporters as being Vince.

The pair are close friends and Danny regularly posts pictures and comments about him on social media.

But who actually is Danny Miller’s father? Here’s everything you need to know about the Emmerdale actor’s famous family-member…

Who is Vince Miller?

Vince has dabbled in a lot of roles over the life-span of his career, including being a comedian, compère, and even a singer.

The 82-year-old also had a famous brother in the form of Bob Walsh, who was the late husband of Anne Dooley, but didn’t become a father to Danny until he was 55.

Along with the award winner, Vince has a total of nine children, but none are in the public eye apart from Danny.

Vince only recently retired from his colourful career in May last year, which allowed Danny to mark the occasion with a star-studded charity fundraiser.

Yet it was his position as matchday host at Old Trafford that made him known across the UK, and he boasted a roster of famous friends that included Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Bobby Charlton.

Following 29 years in the Manchester United Executive Club’s Old Boardroom, Vince ended up retiring early amid complaints of his conduct.

What has Danny Miller said about his father?

The star often posts pictures about Vince on Instagram, accompanied by heartfelt messages.

One post even showed that Danny’s co-star Adam Thomas, who played Adam Barton, knew the legendary entertainer, as the actors and their fathers seemed to be enjoying a night of laughs and frivolity surrounded by various drinks.

Danny affectionately captioned it: “Two legends. And their Dads. 😉 @adamthomas21 <3.”

Another post echoed the sentiment, as Danny shared: “This guy is my best friend in the world. Never lets me down, never puts me wrong.

“Can’t say that about a lot of people and not a lot of people can say that about their best mate.. Let alone their own Father..”

In an interview with The Mirror, the actor also revealed the impact his father had had on his own career choices growing up.

“He’s a great compère, very funny and witty, and gets to do loads of things,” he said. “I’ve been to Fergie’s birthdays and wedding anniversaries as his guest.”

Emmerdale continues at 7pm on ITV tonight, and The National Television Awards air straight after at 7.30pm.
