Emmerdale viewers were left in hysterics earlier this evening when once scene saw Rishi Sharma (played by Bhasker Patel) with a plastic doll.
In a scene which was placed in the sweet factory, doctor Manpreet Jutla (Rebecca Sarker) was seen walking into the office with a mannequin.
Handing it over to Rishi she said: “This is Jolene,” to which Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) interjected and joked: “Didn’t you buy one of those when mum left?”
“Uh, behave!” Rishi reprimanded much to the amusement of his girlfriend Manpreet before adding: “Jolene performs a very important function.”
“Mmm, well we won’t go into that now,” Jai continued insinuating.
Explaining what she was doing with the mannequin, Manpreet said: “Jolene is the key to saving lives.
“By the end of the week, your staff will know how to perform CPR and how to operate a defibrillator.”
The camera then cut to Rishi and Jai who were standing side by side, and viewers saw Rishi looking intently at the dolly and swaying it like a baby.
Those who had tuned in to watch the ITV soap, thought the scene was hilarious and took to Twitter to discuss.
One said: “Ew Jai, don’t make a sex doll joke in front of your dad #Emmerdale.”
“I don’t think that’s what Dolly Parton had in mind when she wrote Jolene! #Emmerdale,” another commented.
A third remarked: “Hahah loving the scenes with Rishi tonight #Emmerdale.”
It comes after Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) and Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) forbidden affair could be exposed.
During another scene in tonight’s episode, Ellis Chapman (Asan N’jie) was seen in David’s shop buying a smoothie when David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) came down from upstairs carrying stock and said: “Oh sorry mate. Eugh, beetroot and kale.”
“You should have your Jacob on these, it might give him the energy to send him to hockey practice more,” Ellis remarked.
But David hit back with: “I don’t know what you’re talking about he’s always at hockey practice, £2 please.”
Does Ellis’ comment suggest some suspicion about how Jacob spends to choose his time and could this lead to David questioning his son about what Ellis meant?
Nevertheless, in upcoming episodes Maya and Jacob are going to take their relationship to the next level.
Next week, the teen turns 16 and to celebrate, Maya suggests the two of them spend some quality time together, alone.
Seizing the opportunity, Jacob goes to the summerhouse and romantically decorates it, with the intent on them spending the night together.
However, Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) starts to get suspicious and worries her boyfriend is starting to regret their relationship.
In a bid to find out, she ends up at the summerhouse and questions what he is doing.
How will Maya react when their special evening is ruined by her seeing Jacob with Liv?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV.
