It has been a punishing year for Chas Dingle (played Lucy Pargeter) and Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt), as they lost baby Grace.

However, they have come out much stronger as a couple and are working through their grief together as a unit.
But as with all good drama series nothing is ever smooth sailing, and there could be trouble ahead for the doting pair.
Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley), who is set to return to Emmerdale in the new year, could play a crucial rule in the demise of their relationship.
She previously dated Paddy and it would seem there is some unfinished business there if what actor Dominic says about the twosome is to be believed.
Chas will feel threatened when Paddy’s old flame returns to the village with her 16-year-old son Vinnie.
“Mandy says something, they have a little giggle and a little moment where they remember old times and just at that moment Chas turns up,” Dominic told Metro.
“He completely and utterly loves Chas and especially after what they’ve been through he doesn’t want to lose her.”
He continued: “[He] has a little flirt with Mandy and remembers they got on. But he would never do anything.”
Yet, schoolboy Vinnie could throw a spanner in the works, as some suspect Paddy is his biological father.
Actress Lucy admitted it could cause major problems for Chas and Paddy if the teenager were revealed to be his son.
“They could take it in any direction – he’s already got a son of sorts in Aaron.
“If he had a biological son that could have implications on his relationship with Aaron, would he favour?”
She added: “I’m not a writer and no idea of the plans but the opportunities are endless if it is.”
Lisa Riley reprises her role as Mandy in the ITV soap in the new year after 17 years away from the show.
Mandy and Paddy were married between 1999 and 2001, but when they separated the barmaid left to live with her friend in London in 2000.
She briefly returned the following year to get back with Paddy, but was left devastated when she found out he was with another woman.
Tweeting about Mandy’s return, Lisa wrote: “Yes it is 100 per cent true, I am RETURNING back to Emmerdale.
“Mandy Dingle will come back to the Dales for New Years to cause all kinds of trouble, and her usual cheeky laughter. It’s been so difficult keeping it a secret for so long, I am over the moon.”
Emmerdale continues tonight on ITV at 7pm.
