Emmerdale spoiler: Cain Dingle’s aneurysm to return? Jeff Hordley drops terrifying hint

The last time Cain was diagnosed with the deadly condition was in 2014, but he struggled to cope with the shocking news and ignored the doctor’s warning to undergo immediate surgery before collapsing in a river.

Cain gradually recovered soon after in the following year, but remains aware that the aneurysm will always exist inside his brain.

“I always find those kind of issue based illnesses are always good things,” he shared to press, appearing optimistic over his character’s future.

Jeff revealed that he hopes for a similar storyline to affect Cain and his new girlfriend Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton), because he believes that viewers will be more able to relate.

“I always think they are good stories to kind of give couples because you are also doing something that a lot of people who watch can relate to or can watch and understand, what that is I couldn’t tell you,” he said.

The 47-year-old Emmerdale star also said that he doesn’t think the illness was explored to its full extent, and there is much more that can be tried.

“I honestly don’t think it was explored as much as it was more a device to get Charity to go, ‘I really still love Cain’ because he nearly died, but we didn’t explore that whole journey.”

Cain recently came to blows with Ross Barton (Michael Parr) over the brutal stabbing of his secret romance Harriet.

The vicar unfortunately became caught up in Ross’s feud with Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) after driving Emma Barton’s (Gillian Kearney) car, which was thought to contain the missing drugs.

But when Cain got involved, explosive scenes followed which led to his ex-wife Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) discovering who his new love is

Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
