EastEnders star makes shocking claim about BBC soap cast in behind-the-scenes revelation

The 29-year-old actress, who played the daughter of villain Johnny Allen (played by Billy Murray) from 2005 to 2006, confessed that she hasn’t watched the long-running soap since her exit.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, she said: “I don’t really know what’s happening in it.

“I’ve not watched it probably since I left,” she continued. “I just don’t think anyone does though.”

She went on to explain that, having been behind-the-scenes and seen the inner workings of EastEnders, actors could no longer enjoy viewing it as a fan.

“The moment you’ve been in a show like that, or any kind of show, it’s then strange to go back and watch because you can’t watch it as a viewer anymore.

“You know exactly how it works, what the set looks like, so it’s weird to then watch it as a show,” she added.

Louisa admitted that she had been a loyal fan of the soap before getting the role of Ruby.

“I grew up watching EastEnders, ever since I can remember,” she said. “So it was crazy for me and my family when I got that job.

“They’d always watched and I’d grown up watching.”

Since EastEnders, the brunette beauty has gone on to land roles in in The Bill, Casualty and Edge of Heaven.

She has also branched into stage work, starring in a production of Les Misérables, Annie and also A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

In 2006, she took part in Strictly Come Dancing and made it to the quarter-finals with her professional partner Vincent Simone.

She later became the first celebrity to be eliminated from the third series of Channel 4’s The Jump in 2016.

Louisa is currently preparing to start rehearsals for her latest theatre project.

She is set to star alongside fellow former EastEnders actress Anna Acton in a new production of Audrey Cefalu’s play The Gulf, which centres around the relationship between lovers Kendra and Betty.

The play sees the minutia of their interactions and the human condition put under the microscope when they are stranded on a boat together and forced to confront their differences.

The Gulf comes to the Tristan Bates Theatre in London from April 17 to May 5.

EastEnders continues Monday at 8pm on BBC One.
