EastEnders spoilers: Why has Big Mo lied about Kat Moon’s death? The truth REVEALED

Tonight Stacey (played by Lacey Turner) notices that she has been missing calls from Mo (Laila Morse), but ultimately ignores them.

But when Stacey later finds her grandmother in her home distraught, things escalate for the Slaters extremely quickly.

Mo brings Stacey’s world down by announcing that Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) is dead.

However, it will very quickly become obvious that there is something strange about Mo’s story.

After the grief subsides, Stacey and Mo work their magic around Walford to gather up support to put on a proper send off for the deceased Slater.

The Carters are more than willing to host an event at the Queen Vic in honour of Kat, bringing all of the locals under one roof to commemorate her life.

With Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) providing the catering, the event comes together pretty quickly. However Mo is still left without a proper coffin to bury the mysteriously missing body of Kat.

Thankfully, Jay Mitchell (Jamie Borthwick) comes to the rescue to donate a coffin for Kat, unwilling to let Mo struggle with her finances.

However, viewers will then see Mo make a quick call to try and sell the brand new coffin for a premium price.

If she does’t need the coffin, it would be safe to assume that Mo has made the story up to make some money.

Fans saw a trailer for Kat’s return last week, so it is no secret that Jessie Wallace is returning to the soap over the coming weeks.

But is Kat in some way involved? Or has Mo taken on this plot purely to make a quick buck?
