Eastenders wasn’t short of drama in tonight’s instalment, as Tiffany Butcher (played by Maisie Smith) and Keegan Baker (Zack Morris) fled against the wishes of their family to marry. However, many fans noticed a strange similarity between Tiffany’s wedding, and that of her dad Ricky.
Tiffany’s dad Ricky (Sid Owen) drove off to Scotland with Sam Mitchell (Danniella Westbrook) back in 1991, as eagle-eyed viewers noticed that the storyline appeared to be “history repeating itself,” as Tiffany headed up to Scotland with her fiancée.
The pair wed at just 16, the same age as Tiffany and Keegan are in the soap.

As the registrar asked the guests if there was any reason why the pair should not marry, Sonia Fowler’s (Natalie Cassidy) phone rang.
Bianca was on the line and as Sonia rejected it, viewers were left amused by the “great timing” of her call.

The pair’s respective families decided to approve of their plan to get married, and supported their wishes.

Bad-boy Leo King’s (Tom Wells) blossoming relationship with her daughter Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) will be an even greater cause for concern.
