EastEnders spoilers: Max leaves Jane for DEAD as ambulance FLIPS – but who’s inside?

Max Branning (played by Jake Wood) left Jane Beale (Laurie Brett) to die as the restaurant was engulfed in flames.

After Steven Beale (Simon Wicks) left the pair to talk inside the burning building, she begged for his help, telling him he could be a hero.

However, Max – whose life would be easier without Jane in it after she became aware of his dirty secrets – could not her persuaded and ran out claiming he “couldn’t find her”.

Is she set to die in the inferno? Her husband Ian (Adam Woodyatt) could only watch as the flames grew, before disappearing into an ambulance with his stepson.

Meanwhile, Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) was seen escorting her pregnant sister Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald) to hospital in a second ambulance, after the latter ran into the blaze.

It wasn’t just the fire that took over Albert Square this evening, with Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) discovering her son Johnny (Ted Reilly) had been shot.

The teen didn’t looked well as he was taken away, with Joyce Murray (Maggie Steed) taking the rap for her troubled spouse Ted (Christopher Timothy).

As the episode came to its closing moments, a truck was seen ploughing into one of the three ambulances, leaving fans to guess who’d been hit.

“I still can’t get over #EastEnders, all of that drama is addictive,” one fan wrote on Twitter, as another agreed: “Wow! #EastEnders really is the gift that keeps on giving right now. #HighDrama.”

A third continued: “#EastEnders GAS EXPLOSION, CANCER, BEX & PRYCE, BEALE’S FIRE, JOHNNY GETS SHOT, AMBULANCE CRASH, BERNADETTE’S BABY! I’M TOO SHOOK.”(sic)
