EastEnders spoilers: Fans shocked by Mick Carter's ‘casual racism’ – were you one of them?

The Queen Vic landlord was seen calling Pakistan-born Masood (played by Nitin Ganatra) and asking him for advice on how to make a chicken Korma.

After listening to Mick’s (Danny Dyer) request, a baffled Masood asked: “Why are you asking me for?”

“What do you mean, why am I asking you?” Mick hit back. “Because you’re the main man aren’t you, you know, anything Indian.”

Masood bluntly replied: “I’m from Pakistan.”

“Oh so what you’re telling me that they don’t have chicken Korma in Pakistan?” Mick laughed.

Clearly becoming annoyed by the pub owner’s remarks, Masood told him: “You won’t find a chicken Korma in the whole of south Asia mate.”

“What is it? An eleventh commandment, is it? Thou shalt not eat korma?” Mick continued.

Viewers were left outraged by Mick’s comments and rushed to Twitter to comment on his remarks.

“Bit culturally insensitive, Mick? #EastEnders,” one fan shared.

While another added: “Bit of a non pc statement there Mick to Mas! #EastEnders.”

A third continued: “Mick’s just called Masood and asked for tips how to cook a curry… how racist #eastenders.”

“Not happy with all this casual racism in @bbceastenders. Will it be challenged at any point? Is it part of a plotline or are you throwing it in to make some kind of point? i.e. Racism is rife and not being challenged enough. Need answers. #EastEnders,” someone else tweeted.

A fifth noted: “What the hell is with all these casual racist/ignorant remarks? They’re not funny, they’re cringey #Eastenders.”

Last night’s instalment also saw (Patrick Bergin) and he was seen being bundled into the back of a van.

The gangster believes that Mick has stolen all of the loot from the New Year’s Day heist after he managed to save the Queen Vic pub by mysterious means last week.

Viewers know that the landlord pawned just one ring from the robbery, which was worth £220,000, but Aidan thinks he’s been lied to and Mick has more than he’s letting on.
