EastEnders spoilers: Aidan Maguire EXITS after Phil Mitchell showdown but there’s a catch

EastEnders fans experienced an extremely tense episode tonight, as Mick (played by Danny Dyer) refused to buckle to Aidan’s (Patrick Bergin) demands.

Last night’s monumentally anxious episode saw Mick sending the rest of his family away from the Queen Vic, in an attempt to protect them from Aidan’s advances.

After Linda Carter’s (Kellie Bright) exit, and Mick’s pals refusing to help him with the battle, viewers weren’t sure if he would make it out of the fight alive.

As Aidan arrived this evening, he made sure that Mick knew he meant business.

Hitting him a few times to get his message across, Aidan told Mick to succumb, give a public apology, and allow the drug dealers to continue using the Vic.

He said: “This is about control. Whoever runs this place runs the whole square.”

But Mick was determined to keep his pub drug free, and refused to give in.

While Whitney Carter (Shona McGarty) arrived to try and help Mick in his dire situation, she was forcibly removed from the pub.

Likewise, Masood Ahmed (Nitin Ganatra) later came and went, leaving Mick ready to face Aidan alone.

But just as the Carter family arrived with Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) to rectify the situation, Aidan called in more of his team and threatened to burn the pub down.

Just as it all looked entirely hopeless, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) arrived with the catalyst that ended the stand-off.

Threatening to send proof of Aidan’s crimes to the police, Phil persuaded him to leave Walford.

Leaving Mick and his pals to celebrate, he exited which appeared to end the Carter’s night of horror.

However with no final rumble Aidan was left alive and well – and still holding a grudge.

Whilst he walked to the tube station, he looked back menacingly, hinting that his evil actions were not yet over.

EastEnders continues Monday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
