The actor, who has played Steven on the soap since 2007, announced yesterday that he would be leaving the BBC soap later this year.
Speaking to Christine Lampard, who is filling in for Lorraine Kelly on her show earlier today, Aaron teased his upcoming departure from Albert Square.
The 28-year-old said: “There’s loads to come! It’s exciting and it’s fitting. We had a chat and it was the right thing to do for [Steven].”
Discussing his character’s fake brain tumour, Aaron explained that it was one of the most challenging aspects of playing the character.
“The difficult thing is that to portray it convincingly, you have to be able to rationalise it because he can rationalise it,” the soap star admitted.
He continued by teasing his upcoming feud with Max Branning (played by Jake Wood), suggesting that the scheming character could play a part in Steven’s downfall.
Aaron hinted: “That’s a great dynamic that’s not fully come into play yet.
“He was always the manipulator and now he is becoming the manipulated and we will see the danger in him there.
“[Steven] is completely out of control of the situation and he does become the puppet,” he admitted.
With Max already scheming against Steven and his bride-to-be Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa), will this complicated situation end in disaster for Steven?
