EastEnders fans DEMAND apology from bosses over Denise Fox baby blunder: 'I'm horrified'

Viewers witnessed sisters Denise (played by Diane Parish) and her sister Kim (Tameka Empson) walking through Walford with the buggy before chatting to neighbours at the market, when Denise was offered a job as the new receptionist at the Town Hall.

However, seeming troubled by the offer, she declined, claiming to have her hands full with Pearl.

Outraged fans took to Twitter to complain about the treatment of toddler Pearl in the scene, who wasn’t actually seen in the buggy that was smothered in a blanket.

One said: “@BBCOne #eastenders Horrified that D & Kim have a blanket over Pearl’s pram! Some viewers might think it’s ok!”

Another heavily criticised EastEnders bosses for the decision: “First time I watch @bbceastenders for ages and I see Kim and Denise pushing the baby with a blanket covering the pram. #stupid”

“Disappointed to see blanket over Pearl’s pushchair in @bbceastenders So dangerous! Please rectify with a warning #Health&Safety #EastEnders,” an angry viewer demanded.

Fans of the show continued to demonstrate their shock at the BBC series’ choice. One fumed: “@bbceastenders blanket over a babies pushchair seriously? How can your team not know the dangers of doing this?”

Meanwhile, as Denise’s storyline continued in the episode, some believed the soap was seeming to stray from reality.

One person tweeted: “HA HA HA HA Denise getting a council job with one GCSE? So I should be a CEO with my degree. No idea of reality these writers #eastenders,” and another mocked: “Sorry but having one GCSE isn’t going to magically change Denise’s life #eastenders.”

The episode also featured a challenging day for Lauren, who recently went through an abortion storyline, who was trying to put her past behind her, along with Keegan causing trouble at school after he spread a sex rumour about Louise.
