The 35-year-old, along with the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry, decided to greet the athletes at the royal home today after launching Heads Together last May to help break the stigma of mental illness.
Kate wore a £220 white long-sleeved jumper with navy and red stripes, by Italian label Luisa Spagnoli, a pair of black skinny jeans and some white Superga trainers.
Her hair was in loose waves, and she accessorised with delicate gold earrings.
Heads Together has been chosen as the official charity for this year’s London Marathon, and blue headbands will be put on postboxes and landmarks across the capital for the 26.2 mile race this Sunday.
Battersea Power Station, the Thames Water Tower in Shepherd’s Bush and the Olympic Stadium are just a few of the landmarks which will be “wearing” blue headbands on the day.
On Friday, London’s South Bank will be lit up blue, along with the National Theatre and the London Eye, and 70 postboxes will have headbands to raise awareness for the campaign.
While it was the first time the Duchess had been pictured in this outfit, she is renowned for re-wearing many of her more pricey items of clothing.
She last wore the monochrome coat for a twilight vigil at the Somme memorial in June 2016.
The time, she paired the coat with a black fascinator style hat – last time she wore a vintage pillbox style.
Kate opted for drop pearl and diamond earrings, and wore her hairpin a chic twisted low bun.
Despite the warmer weather, she kept her legs covered sheer black tights, and completed the look with black suede court shoes.
