Disneyland in the UK? Brand new mega theme park London Paramount to open in Kent

The £3.5 billion mega park has been described as the UK’s answer to Disneyland.

London Paramount will be built near Dartford in Kent, covering an area of 872 acres.

The impressive attraction will boast more than 50 rides, a 2,000-seat theatre and its own nightclub.

London Paramount is set to be open by 2022.

Paramount is the California studio behind iconic Hollywood blockbusters Iron Man, Forrest Grump, Titanic and Transformers.

Productions from the BBC and Aardman Animations will also inspire the tourist attraction.

Early forecasts predict an intake of up to 40,000 visitors per day once the park is open for business.

Zones are expected to include Adventure Isle, Land of Legends, Cartoon Circus, Starfleet Command, Action Square, Port Paramount and Entertainment City.

The theme park’s impressive design is the first of its kind in the UK, but plans are still subject to government approval.

If given the green light, work on the building will start as early as 2019.

But there have already been setbacks for London Paramount, which was originally due to start construction this year.

Chief executive David Testa resigned when doubts were raised about the £100m investment of Chinese firm SinoFortone.

But the project’s parent company is forging on, with planning drafts prepared by specialists who have previously worked on EuroDisney and the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur.

When the theme park finally opens, tickets are expected to cost £57 for a one day entry at full price.

In another UK first, Zip World is about to launch a pioneering alpine coaster

The Fforest Coaster will wind through mountainous terrain in North Wales, allowing riders to control their own speed.
