Die Hard 6 title CONFIRMED ‘Bruce Willis will have significant role in prequel sequel’

A sixth outing in the Die Hard franchise has been a long time coming after the poor last entry that was 2013’s A Good Day to Die Hard.

What we do know is Die Hard 6 is a prequel sequel that will switch between John McClane when he was an NYPD rookie before the events of the first movie and the present day.

Originally titled Die Hard: Year One, the film’s producer has now revealed the movie will simply be called McClane.

Speaking with , Lorenzo di Bonaventura said: “You can tell our intention by the fact that the title page we handed in says, McClane.”

He continued: “We want you to get invested in John McClane more than ever before.”

Lorenzo also confirmed that Willis will still have a prominent role in the movie.

He added: “I don’t know how you do Die Hard without Bruce.

“The idea that he’s not very significant in this movie is not accurate at all. We are gonna explore John McClane in his twenties. But just as prominent is the 60-year-old version.”

Afterward the actor was asked how fans would react to this, Willis replied: “We’ll see.”

It’s not entirely clear if the actor was winding up fans on purpose or if he was being serious, but it’s quite the statement nonetheless.

Last year YouGov polled UK movie fans on whether Die Hard was a Christmas movie or not.

Of the 5000 polled just 30% voted Yes, while 52% voted No and 18% said they don’t know.
