Dancing On Ice 2018: Fans FURIOUS as Holly and Phillip make shock change 'Totally wrong'

Those tuning into the competition were baffled when it was revealed that the voting lines for this week would be open from the start of the show. 

Viewers are usually given a short time slot to save their favourite celebrity on a Sunday night. 

But tonight, due to the special double elimination, fans have been given the chance to vote for their favourite star before they had performed. 

However, viewers were far from impressed with and ’s announcement and took to Twitter to complain. 

“Why is the voting open now? That means you’re not voting on performance only on who you like. Totally wrong. #DancingOnIce,” one viewer tweeted. 

While another added: “Voting is open already ahhh @dancingonice #DancingOnIce wow well that’s thrown me ….  plus double elimination.”

A third continued: “If voting is open before they have even skated, it’s pretty clear that #dancingonice is just a popularity contest and isn’t actually about the skating.

“Sad thing about having voting open now is that people are going to vote without seeing the skating #doi #dancingonice,” someone else wrote.

A fifth noted: “@dancingonice So you’re opening the lines to vote already. Without seeing the skating? Basically asking to vote for your favourite person not the best skater! #Nice #DancingOnIce.”

Another added: “#dancingonice opening the votes from the beginning is all about favourites not if they can actually skate!!”

Ahead of tonight’s show, bookmakers noted that they believe the  

The actor’s odds to win the series have been slated at 50/1. 

Meanwhile, former X Factor singer Jake Quickenden continues to be the favourite to win at 1/2. 

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “People are putting their money on Jake to skate his way to victory as if defeat is out of the question. 

“He’s one of the shortest priced contestants we’ve ever seen at this stage of a celebrity TV programme.”

Dancing On Ice continues with a double elimination tonight at 6pm on ITV.
