Ritz-Carlton has revealed its plans to venture into the cruise industry.
Unsurprisingly the Marriott-owned hotel group’s new ships are nothing short of luxury.
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection comprises three yachts set to change the face of the cruise holidays.
Herve Humler, president and chief operating officer of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, said: “The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection will have a distinctive personality and the vessels are sure to be true stand outs in some of the most glamorous ports around the world.
“This unique combination of yachting and cruising will usher in a new way of luxury travel for guests seeking to discover the world in a relaxed, casually elegant and comfortable atmosphere with the highest level of personalised service.”
The first yacht will set sail at the end of 2019, with bookings available from May 2018.
Guests can choose from seven to 10 day itineraries with “intimate and signature destinations alike”.
Locations will include the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and New England.
The compact size of the cruise yacht will enable it to make calls at Capri, Portofino, St. Barths and the old town of Cartagena, where many mega cruise ships are unable to access.
It will have capacity for 298 passengers hosted in 149 suites with their own private balconies.
There will be two duplex penthouse suites sprawling 138 square metres each.
The luxury yacht will feature a restaurant by Sven Elverfeld from The Ritz-Carlton’s three Michelin-starred restaurant Aqua.
